Blackberry Achieves ECOsmart Certification for the Second Year

Blackberry Events is proud to announce that it has achieved ECOsmart Agency Certification for the second year running, recognising the team’s continued commitment to sustainability, environmental responsibility and positive social impact.

Over the past 12 months, the team has embraced its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) responsibilities, building on many of the positive practices already embedded in the way the business operates. From measuring emissions to increasing social value and improving accessibility, Blackberry Events has taken practical steps to make sustainability an integral part of its approach to event delivery.

‍

Making a Positive Impact Through ESG

As part of its ongoing commitment, Blackberry Events has introduced a range of initiatives to strengthen its ESG focus and encourage more responsible decision-making across the business and the events it delivers.

Measuring environmental impact

The team has begun measuring its Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, establishing a clear baseline of emissions across the organisation and its events. This provides a stronger understanding of its environmental impact and helps inform future decisions to reduce emissions and deliver more sustainable events.

Creating social value

Blackberry Events continues to prioritise social value, maintaining its Living Wage Employer status and investing in opportunities that support the next generation of talent. This includes offering work experience, contributing to Future Faces committees, participating in university careers events, appearing on educational podcasts and providing mentorship.

The team has also continued to support local charities such as Titan Partnership, through fundraising initiatives and volunteering its time, helping to create a positive impact within the local community.

Championing diversity, equity and inclusion

Diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) are increasingly central to the way Blackberry Events plans and delivers events. Where possible, the team considers DEI throughout the event journey, while building its knowledge of accessible marketing and the requirements of attendees to help create more inclusive experiences.

Investing in knowledge and training

To support continuous improvement, the team has undertaken training in Sustainability in Events, Sustainable Marketing and DEI. This investment helps ensure that sustainability and inclusion remain key considerations throughout the planning process, rather than an afterthought.

Working with responsible suppliers

Blackberry Events recognises that delivering more sustainable events is a collective effort. The business is therefore placing greater emphasis on its supply chain, working with like-minded suppliers wherever possible to support more responsible event delivery.

Continuing the Journey Towards More Sustainable Events

Achieving ECOsmart Agency Certification for a second consecutive year marks an important milestone for Blackberry Events, but the team sees it as part of an ongoing journey rather than a final destination.

By continuing to build on its ESG commitments, Blackberry Events aims to create positive impact beyond the events it delivers, making considered choices that benefit clients, attendees, suppliers and the wider community.

The team would like to thank Greengage | B Corp™ for its ongoing support, alongside trusted partners such as eventdecision®, whose time, expertise and commitment have helped Blackberry Events continue to make progress.

Through collaboration, continuous learning and a focus on practical action, Blackberry Events is committed to doing more, one step at a time.
