After a year of exciting wins at the Birmingham based event agency – Blackberry Events, the news broke that they had been named finalists at the inaugural beam Awards.

Held by leading industry association beam, these prestigious awards are to be held in January 2026 at the Belfry Hotel and Golf Resort and will recognise excellence within the events and hospitality industry.

Not long after being named finalists for Agency of the Year at the Meeting Industry Association List, the exciting news came for Blackberry about yet another industry accolade – this time for their partnership with The National Association of Headteachers (NAHT).

The team at Blackberry Events have been working with NAHT on the running of The Inspiring Leadership Conference for 12 years, transforming it into the legacy event it is today and the UK’s longest standing leadership in education experience.

It is this prospering partnership that caught the attention of judges from venues, suppliers and agencies across the industry and country. The award recognises a partnership in the last 12 months that delivered tangible results through meaningful collaboration across the events, meetings,or accommodation sectors.

Blackberry Events acquired The Inspiring Leadership Conference from the Department for Education back in 2013 after they seized their involvement. This exciting opportunity came to the Birmingham based events agency as a result of their connections, passion for and reputation within educational sector.

The purpose behind The Inspiring Leadership Conference is to support, develop and inspire senior leaders and headteachers within schools and organisations who are responsible for inspiring the future generations. The event welcomes approximately 1000 senior leaders from schools across the UK at the ICC, Birmingham each year.

The collaboration has been commended for its ability to evolve and market the Inspiring Leadership Conference in an ever-changing and sometimes challenging environment, keeping people and purpose at the heart and ensuring a modern, inclusive and valuable experience for all.

In 2025 the event saw changes following the appointment of Blackberry Events Director Georgie Butler, supported by her growing team of experts across marketing, ESG, operations and sales.

Rising competition and delegate expectations meant that creating further value and meaning for those attending the Inspiring Leadership Conference was a top priority for driving the success of the event.

Blackberry and NAHT have been working hard in the last year and have welcomed a modern re-brand, new user-friendly website, charity partner, CPD accreditation and event features enhancing the returns on experience for all attending – whether an exhibitor, sponsor or delegate. The team are continually reviewing and implementing ESG and DEI initiatives and hope to announce further positive news in the coming months.

And, it’s all thanks to the power of teamwork.
