The Pearson National Teaching Awards recognise and celebrate the incredible work of teaching communities across the UK. Organised by The Teaching Awards Trust and supported by Pearson and the BBC’s The One Show, they are the UK’s most prestigious celebration of transformational teaching - often referred to as the Oscar’s of education!
Blackberry Events have been the trusted event management partner for five years, stepping in to support the production of the UK ceremony which was previously produced and televised by the BBC until 2019. Since then, we have worked closely with Teaching Awards Trust, acting as a vital extension of their team to produce a nationally significant, highly prestigious awards evening, celebrating the entire education profession (from Early Years to Further Education).

In 2025, like any other year it was our responsibility to create a logistically flawless event that runs to time while giving each winner recognition and time in the spotlight.
This prestigious awards ceremony is featured on the BBC One Show each year thanks to its up-standing legacy and the important purpose behind the event. The event celebrated 16 award categories 7 of which were televised on the BBC prior to the event. Categories recognised excellence in both teams and individuals for awards such as Early Years Team of the Year and Head teacher of the year in a Primary School.
Over the years the National Teaching Awards has seen many themes making each event a unique and entertaining experience. The theme for 2025 was carnival, an exciting event theme which added a touch of magic to the evening with vibrant staging, an indoor big top tent, decorations and a sky full of stars. Talking of stars, the event was hosted by celebrity TV and Radio Presenter - Gaby Roslin.
Following years of seamless planning and delivery, we were proud to be recruited once again to plan and deliver specific logistics for the event. These included venue management, delegate management, technical production and on the day support.
Delegate management included building and managing the ticket booking system, sending communications such as invitations and invoices and collating delegate information for smooth running of the event such as dietaries and accessibility requirements. Our event management team were also in charge of managing accommodation.
Technical production included AV and creative management,set and stage design and build, content design, filming, sound, lighting and the running order for the live ceremony.
Finally, our team were responsible for the live event on the day. From host runthroughs, to award presenter briefings, from attendee and table plan management to the catering coordination and finally overseeing the live ceremony of awards, giving the client team the opportunity to enjoy the event they organised.
